Life is Beautiful

Ok, so I just watched this movie for the first time ever yesterday and I LOVED it! I laughed and cried multiple times. Mostly cried. Well actually I bawled my eyes out but it was great!
I hope that if you ever get the chance to watch it you do, it's on netflix right now!

I had a beautiful life this last weekend, congratulations to my best friend Andrea and her new husband Kevin! Despite being late to their sealing, and luncheon, ripping my bridesmaid dress, and getting lost trying to drive everywhere, it was an amazing day! The pros definitely outweigh the cons.
--We arrived probably at 11 O'clock {when the sealing was scheduled to begin} after having to run home for a forgotten recommend, parking on the street because the lot was full, and running to the front door,  but we were able to make it in before it started
--My dress had a tear but I was able to have my wonderful sister Emily sew it up before continuing on the the luncheon
--Although we were the last to arrive at the luncheon we got there right before Andrea and Kevin so nobody even noticed!

Dan was being so wonderful to come with me all day to the various wedding events and so later that afternoon I told him to get in touch with some mission buddies and spend time with them so he wasn't completely bored all weekend.

Overall my absolute favorite part of this weekend was seeing some of my favorite people in the whole world!

My beautiful sister Emily and her cute family
All these wonderful ladies from home
The one and only irreplaceable Noelle who I love and hadn't seen since LAST FALL the longest we've ever been apart since we met that blessed semester at BYU-I in fall 2010 {we were roommates for 4 semesters!} She's been to Peru, completed {maybe?} an internship for the church, and encountered many adventures since we've been apart that I will have to catch up on when we both get back to Rexburg.
and of course, the bride Andrea and my fellow bridesmaids, Natalie and Anna! Last time I was with these girls was at my wedding and lets be honest, I did not get to spend very much time with them. It was so good to chat, laugh with each other, and catch up on old times :) I just love these ladies and I don't know what kind of person I would be with out them.

Life is beautiful and I hope that I will always remember how blessed I am and enjoy every minute of it.

Dad's Fresh Homemade Salsa

My dad makes the best homemade salsa. As my garden has done a wonderful job at producing tomatoes I needed to find a way to use them in some delicious way. I called up my mom and asked for this recipe and it was a success! I couldn't stop eating it! I made my brother-in-law Benny try it and he claimed he didn't like salsa but even he loved it!
  • 10 Roma tomatoes {I didn't grow roma tomatoes but my garden tomatoes worked just fine}
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 1 jalapeno pepper with or with out seeds {seeds give it more of a kick}
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1 sweet onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cumin
This is the original recipe. I also added green peppers, black beans, and corn for some color and taste. Feel free to play around with the amounts to your liking, but just know that it is DELICIOUS and you won't be able to stop eating it!  Enjoy :) -oh ps I just chopped it up in our nifty food processor {wedding present} that I opened up and fell in love with today.
With the combination of being a bad photographer and terrible lighting at my house, this picture will have to do

Alright alright so the picture doesn't do it justice, just pretend it looks delicious

Last Weekend

Last weekend Dan and I went down to Utah to attend his cousin Stephen and Lizzy's wedding. We're so happy for them, congratulations you guys! While we were in Utah we also took time to go to the Brigham City LDS temple open house. It was so beautiful inside and out! I love temples and everything about them. In the introductory video Jeffrey R. Holland said he couldn't imagine heaven with out his wife and children, it just wouldn't be heaven without them. How wonderful it is that we can be sealed in temples to our families for eternity so we can be together forever! I'm so grateful for Heavenly Father's plan and that he has made this possible.

Next week I get to go to Utah again to celebrate the wedding of two of my favorite people, Andrea and Kevin {check our their blog, it's super cute!} I couldn't be more excited for them! I love being married. I think it's the best thing ever so I just love it when other people are married.
That's all I have to say for now, cheers!

My green thumb and I

Today I took a little trip outside to see our garden, something I have been too lazy to do this last weekish and I was overwhelmed by the plethora of produce! Check it out!

Lots and lots of tomatoes, carrots, and peppers!
Our tomato plants are pretty much taking over, but behind them we have lots of lettuce and somewhere in the ground are a few onions

Clearly I am very pleased with the success of our very first garden :)

While I'm here, I'll just show you our cute little house and everything I love about it. We've been living here all summer and were so blessed to find a place to live so easily.
It looks kind small {hey you can see our garden in the early stages!} but when I went in for the first time I was surprised at how big it was! There is a whole other side that isn't even in the picture. The house was originally built like 100 years ago {I'm not exaggerating I promise} but they kept adding on. The owner did a lot of beautiful wood work on the inside when he added on to the kitchen and he even built the fireplace! It has been the perfect little starter home for us this summer and I'll be sad to leave it.
This is Kirby my mothers day present from Dan. He said I needed to learn how to take care of a rabbit before I could have a child.

Ok this is a webcam photo, bad quality, but I couldn't leave out the cutest little kitty: Thor! I adopted him from an animal shelter booth and brought him home without Dan knowing... but he was so cute I couldn't resist!  I feel silly because I spent like 5 minutes trying to get the thing to look into the camera. I felt like I was talking to a disobedient child. If you knew me and saw me doing it you'd have laughed because I'm not usually an animal person. I once got angry at my best friend {Keri} for getting attached to some fish. However, I do think Thor is so cute and cats are perfect because you don't bother them, they don't bother you. It's a great relationship.
This is hanging in my house; Not trying to brag or anything...

If you ever want to come visit Idaho, come visit our home before we leave for school in September. We love guests and even have a spare bedroom!

My Favorite Little Brother

Last weekend Dan and I had the opportunity to make the wonderful 7 1/2 hour drive to my beloved state of Washington. Visiting my family is always so fun, I absolutely love being with my parents, sisters and brothers. We usually always get a volleyball game and hardly ever get to bed before midnight as we stay up playing games and usually laughing all night. Everything is ten times funnier after eleven or midnight. The purpose of this {short} trip home was to celebrate a new chapter in my little brother James' life. He will be leaving later this month to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Salt Lake City Utah {south} mission. We are so proud and excited for him! I was so happy I had one last time to see him before he is leaves for two years. In case you haven't met James, here is a prime photo:
He was so cute, what happened?
I'd like to think that James and I have always been pretty good friends. We're almost exactly a year and a half apart and did most of our growing up playing together.
As we got older we became better friends and pretty much hung out all throughout high school, even though sometimes I couldn't stand him or his {girl}friends.
It was especially fun when we were both in Rexburg together. He was always welcome at my apartment and enjoyed many meals, by the hands of my roommates :) We were even FHE brother and sister for a semester.
Pretty much I have lots of good memories with my little brother and I can't wait till he gets back so we can make more. Here are just a couple of my favorites:
  • When we were super little and shared a room james always fell off his bed at night with a loud thump but he hardly ever woke up, thats usually when hannah would get out of bed and put him back in bed
  •  Pretty sure we wanted to hatch our own chicks and so we took eggs from the fridge and hid them in our sock drawers so they would hatch, sadly they never did...
  • Though I hate to admit it {and haven't until now} I made James and I late to seminary regularly in high school. Luckily his teachers knew it wasn't his fault so they let him off easy :)
  • Biggest fight I've ever had with a sibling was with James. It ended in a concussion for me, but hey I got the day off of work
  • As we got older and more mature we had some pretty good heart-to-hearts
I just love this little guy and I'm so happy and proud of him for going on a mission. I'm glad that we grew out of our angry teenager phases {he's almost there} and became really good friends. I know I'm gonna miss him lots!

Dan's Face

This is Daniel my wonderful husband. Check out that face, isn't he just the cutest? I'm a big fan. Don't worry, not all our posts will be about Dan; although he is my favorite person to talk about, think about, etc. Anyhoo, some have inquired about the condition of Dan's face as of today. You see, about a week ago Dan had an unfortunate tubing accident involving his face and our cousin {Nelson DeMeester}'s foot. Needless to say we didn't continue tubing, that afternoon was spent resting and icing Dan's face/lips.

Alright so you can't really tell in these pictures but his face was so sore and his lips were huge! Too bad I couldn't kiss him...We are happy to report that his lips/face are pretty much back to normal and he is feeling great!

"From what once was cuts, bruises, and a slight paralysis on the left side of my face became an overwhelming serendipitous feeling of relief knowing that no permanent damage had been incurred"-Dan

There you have it folks. We are happy, healthy and more in love than ever :)

Ripley's believe it or not

Believe it or not we've started a blog. This has been difficult as I have sworn never to start a blog; However it seems like the thing to do when you get married. After much deliberation and almost 4 months of marriage, the blogging has begun. Stay tuned for the posts to follow but for now enjoy a picture of this really hot couple
