If you know me at all you know that their are two things I absolutely love in my life and would hate to live without! Alright their are probably more than two things that fit into that category: Crunchwrap supremes, Dan, sleeping, disney movies, family, my bosom friends, milk, basketball shorts, cows etc... the list could go on [it might be a lame list but this is just what I could think of in the two minutes I've been sitting here]. Most of my growing up years, however, were spent playing soccer and piano! Music and Sports. Loooooooove 'em, can't live without 'em.
This semester at school I am registered for piano lessons! I had my very first lesson last week. I haven't taken piano lessons probably since I was 16! I started playing when I was about 6 years old, took a little break at 13/14 and took again for a year when I was 16. I love playing the piano. It was great for annoying sleeping siblings and getting out of doing dishes. Most of all I love how it makes me feel. If ever I was stress, angry, sad, nervous, I found myself at the piano and I would always feel better after playing through whatever I found. Unfortunately I was terrible at practicing but with my class I am required [like for my grade] to practice 45 min/6 days a week! It will be a little challenging, but I think I can handle it. I've almost finished my first week and let me tell you it's been one of the highlights of my day each time I practice. I am also grateful for the opportunities and challenges studying music has offered me. When I was little I would cry my eyes out before recitals and refuse to participate [although my parents always made me]. Let me tell you I survived and now I am a much better person for it. I'm grateful that my Heavenly Father blessed me with this talent and that I am able to use it to serve Him.
Soccer! Soccer! Soccer! I love soccer everybody. All summer I could not WAIT to get to BYU-I where I could play. Their is an awesome competitive sports program here, as well as an awesome intramural sports program. Last week we had soccer tryouts [competitive] and had my first practice yesterday! Then, last night I had my first intramural soccer game. My team won! [5-1?]. I was getting nervous about playing again because it was my first time since last fall [yes, it's been a year] but I felt totally comfortable on the field and had a blast!
I'm so lucky to have these awesome experiences at school, I will be sad when I have to leave. I will just have to get the most out of it while I can!
